Indigo & History: An Afternoon in Savannah
Join us for a rich and colorful journey into Savannah’s past, blending art, culture, and history. We’ll begin with a hands-on introduction to the beauty and tradition of indigo dyeing, led by Caroline Harper of Chi Design Indigo. Then, we’ll step inside the historic First African Baptist Church, where historian Karen Wortham will guide us through the church’s remarkable story and the role of indigo in Savannah’s heritage. We’ll end the afternoon with an immersive dyeing experience, creating your own indigo-dyed piece to take home. Part history, part art, and fully unforgettable.
