Founder of EZWxBrief, Scott is a nationally-known expert in aviation weather. He has worked as a meteorologist for the last 40 years and has a doctorate in Infrastructures and Environmental Systems from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte (UNCC). With a background as a meteorologist, commercial pilot, and experienced CFI who has logged over 4000 hours over the last 25 years, he offers a unique approach to teaching general aviation pilots how to minimize their exposure to adverse weather. He is a widely published aviation author that includes his new book, The Skew-T log (p) and Me: A Primer for Pilots and is a contributing editor for FLYING magazine. He is also the co-author of Pilot Weather: From Solo to the Airlines. In his spare time Scott volunteers as EAA's subject matter expert on weather.

Bill Frank is a longtime flight instructor with nearly 50 years of flight experience. He is the 2020 recipient of the COPA Safety and Education Foundation Lifetime Achievement award and the 2022 Safety Award from Cirrus Aircraft. He holds several type ratings and turboprop experience with Pilatus PC-12 NG, TBM 900 series and EPIC aircraft.

Board-certified orthopedic surgeon and FAA Senior Human Intervention Motivational Study (HIMS) aviation medical examiner (AME).
Ian Blair Fries, M.D. an orthopedic surgeon and a Senior FAA HIMS Aviation Medical Examiner practices in Vero Beach, Florida. His aeromedical practice focuses on Special Issuances for pilots with potentially disqualifying conditions. He assists pilots with alcohol and substance problems recover and return to the cockpit. He is an M.R.O., S.A.P. and teaches new HIMS AMEs at FAA HIMS courses.



He learned to fly while in the United States Air Force where he was a Flight Surgeon. He has over 7,000 hours as pilot-in-command and holds ATP, CFII, and Learjet type ratings. He has owned five TBM models over more than 20 years, currently flying a Daher TBM 960.



He is Chairman of the AOPA Board of Medical Advisors, aeromedical consultant for Teamsters Airline Division, and a board member of the Flying Musicians Association.

Igor Lucas manages the SIMCOM Orlando Props Division. He has been with SIMCOM for over 13 years. His primary programs as a flight instructor were the PC12 and TBM. Through SIMCOM, Igor has provided over 700 hours of TBM in-aircraft instruction and over 15,000 hours of ground school and simulator training.

James Runnels MD is an instrument rated, multi-engine, private and commercial pilot. His background is in Internal Medicine and Hyperbaric Medicine, and he works full time in Emergency Medicine. He is also Medical Director of 30 Louisiana urgent care clinics. He owns a Mooney and an Aerostar, and helps manage and flies three Cessna singles. He gets occasional SIC time in King Airs and Citations.
