Pre Convention Tour

Travel through two deserts and the transition zone between two ecosystems on this naturalist-guided tour to a vast wilderness area filled with jumbled boulders and the Park’s iconic Dr. Seuss-esque Joshua Trees.

Guests departing from the Greater Palm Springs area will enjoy a narrated tour of the Coachella Valley and learn about the wind and solar energy generated from the San Gorgonio Pass wind and solar farms. Guests may also join the tour in the high desert communities of Morongo Valley, Yucca Valley, or Joshua Tree.

Guests will spend a full three hours exploring the Park and learning about the plants and animals of the high desert and rich history of the area.

Take in the spectacular view at the Key’s View Overlook, which offers a stunning viewpoint from 5,185 ft. in elevation where you can see all the way to Mexico on a clear day. Your tour will include several additional stops for photo ops and short nature walks and/or hikes based on guest wants, needs and capabilities.

A picnic lunch in the Park is included.

Palm Springs Air Museum

On Thursday, September 19th, TBMOPA will host a fantastic dinner party at the Palm Springs Air Museum.  At the Museum there is always something new, where history comes alive and visitors can get close to the vintage World War II and Korea/Vietnam era aircraft. Named in 2014 as one of the top 14 aviation museums in the world by CNN Travel, 59 flyable and static planes are on display inside four climate-controlled hangars totaling 86,000 square feet inside with more outside on the tarmac. Many of the Museum docents actually flew these planes and served on the ships. The four hangars are organized by theme, with related exhibits lining the walls.
