The TBMOPA Companions' Ground School Program is informative hands-on training, and we welcome all levels of experience. Courses will explore the basic principles of flight, aircraft instruments, and radio communications. We’ll also cover some of the basics on managing emergency situations, always good to know!

The class begins on Thursday morning with an introduction to the material and a description of what to expect in the session.  Companions will then transition to an afternoon ground school class for both beginners and advanced students.  

Companions will have the opportunity for hands-on training with Garmin Avionics panels for the G600, G1000, and G3000 aircraft. These sessions will be grouped by panel. You’ll appreciate having an instructor who can spend more time with you and have a comfortable space to ask all your burning questions!

The Ground School Program will be led by Certified Flight Instructor Jim Tuley, TBMOPA’s Safety Consultant.. The Course is only $250 and TBMOPA Members can add the course to their registration when registering their companion. 

This year we will have the companions lounge again with all the amenities.
